first_imgSinger-songwriter Lyle Divinsky covered a Prince classic with help from Jennifer Hartswick (Trey Anastasio Band) and Nick Cassarino (The Nth Power) for Chapter 3 of his “Together Wherever” series, in which the crooner teams up with new and familiar faces to record music together—in spite of the physical distance between both performers and audiences necessitated by the ongoing pandemic.Related: Jennifer Hartswick & Nick Cassarino Perform Radiohead’s “Creep” At Quarantine Comes Alive [Watch]The latest installment of the remote collaboration series—a cover of “How Come U Don’t Call Me Anymore?”—begins with Cassarino’s characteristically complex yet melodic strumming before Divinsky slides in to sing the first verse. While only Lyle and Nick are visible in the video frame up until that point, you can hear both Nick and Jen’s voices join in as the song hits its first chorus.From there, the Cassarino panel slides to the right to reveal Hartswick, who offers up powerful, jazz-inflected vocals on the second verse on the song, initially released by Prince in 1982 as the non-album B-side to “1999”.
