Mom is Moved to Tears When Older Boys Approach Her Adopted Son at the Park

first_imgAddThis Sharing ButtonsShare to FacebookFacebookFacebookShare to TwitterTwitterTwitterShare to EmailEmailEmailShare to RedditRedditRedditShare to MoreAddThisMoreThis mom’s testimony of kindness is just another example of why kids have the purest hearts. It was a quiet morning when Christy Lee Rowden of Oologah, Oklahoma took her two kids Asher and Mercy to the park this week. Since it was still early in the day, the youngsters spent the first part of their trip playing by themselves. Then, a group of 5th grade boys from Oologah Upper Elementary showed up and started playing basketball. Rowden says that since she adopted 7-year-old Asher from Uganda, he can be shy around other kids as a result. But this time, as he quietly stepped back to watch the boys play, they approached him instead.RELATED: When Elderly Woman Fell Ill, Her 7-Year-old Bestie Began Checking Up On Her 5 Times a Day“All the boys came over and shook Asher’s hand and introduced themselves. Then they asked him to play with them,” Rowden wrote on Facebook, adding that the gesture “melted her heart.”“They were so kind – they included him by letting him catch and throw the ball and they cheered him on and high-fived him,” says Rowden.“It seriously brought tears to my eyes – especially being the mom of a black boy in a mostly white community,” she added.LOOK: Photo of Young Athletes Paying Respect to a Funeral is Restoring People’s Faith in HumanityThe video of the youngsters all hugging and encouraging Asher has been shared on Facebook hundreds of times  – and it’s not hard to see why.Clayton Brown, who says that he knows the kids in the video, wrote: “We teach our kids to be color blind because at the end of the day we’re all humans just getting through life. So seeing this makes me –and I’m sure the other parents– feel like we’re doing the right thing.”(WATCH the sweet video below)Share The Sweet Story Of Compassion With Your Friends – Photo by Christy Lee RowdenAddThis Sharing ButtonsShare to FacebookFacebookFacebookShare to TwitterTwitterTwitterShare to EmailEmailEmailShare to RedditRedditRedditShare to MoreAddThisMorelast_img read more

Public Comment to be taken on Land Donation to Kenai Performers

first_imgThe property is a two-acre parcel near the intersection of the Kenai Spur Highway and Evergreen St, though it doesn’t directly border the highway. Koch: “To direct me to negotiate and put together an agreement for the donation of property. So they haven’t actually approved it yet, they’ve just told me to put it together and there’ll be a subsequent action on their part.” FacebookTwitterEmailPrintFriendly分享The City of Kenai will this week revisit the proposed donation of land to the Kenai Performers. Koch says even after this week’s meeting, the Council will need to take up the issue one last time to issue final approval of the donation. Some members of the acting group had previously suggested the new theater might be built and ready for performances this November, but Koch says that timeframe was based on a misunderstanding… Koch: “There was certainly some confusion on different individuals’ parts within the Kenai Performers about what the effect of the City Council’s actions were. The one individual thought it was all a done deal from the time the Council directed me to move forward and look at alternative sites and put something together. That was understood by that one individual as “Oh, it’s a done deal, we have the land.’” City Manager Rick Koch says the parcel has been going through a rezoning process and will be presented to the City Council during this Wednesday’s regular meeting.last_img read more

In the summer, discussions have gone further than before. Coming to Lyon, it was in my head for several years, it was clear,” Denayer was quoted as saying by Foot Mercato. In the past four seasons, the 23-year-old was out on loan at Celtic, Galatasaray, Sunderland and also spent a second spell with the Turkish outfit. He was clear that he had to leave Manchester City for good and find a new club where he can feel settled in the long run.“I think for everyone and in any sport, we want stability. After four years [of going out on loan], I needed something stable, something to focus on in the long run. Lyon is a club with a lot of visibility, which will allow me to show myself and return to the national team,” the centre-back Taboolaby TaboolaSponsored LinksSponsored LinksPromoted LinksPromoted LinksTrending TodayForge of Empires – Free Online GameChallenge Your Brain With This Must-Play Strategy Game.
